Damnable Money
I go to a weekly writing workshop that is 120 miles from home. Sadly, my family is functionally broke. My wife is working a temp job, but we won't see a paycheck capable of paying rent until three weeks after the rent is due. I can no longer justify the cost of going to this workshop. It takes me $50 a week in gas to drive my car, thanks to the price gouging of the oil companies. I have had to go on virtual leave.
It is frustrating. I am sending anywhere between five and ten resumes a week, and nothing is coming forth. There are two people in my carpool who now won't be able to go as often because of this. All I can do is keep mailing resumes and stories.
SO much for a happy birthday.
Actually, there is some good news. A few people have offered to review my stories while I can't put anything on table. I've got some help coming.
